As they release their new EP Who The Fuck Are The Arctic Monkeys, the bandwagon does not seem to show any signs of stopping, and is still leading in the Keane v Zutons race to superstardom. I must admit that I have always been one for a bit of a mash-up (read that how you will) and this latest of the Artic Monkeys When The Sun Goes Down (formally named Scummy) and The Killers constantly sampled Somebody Told Me, is as good as it gets.
Don't fret, as I imagine you could well be doing as this is professionally done - I could lecture on about this but it's best just to visit www.arcticmonkeys-remixed.com (thanks for the link, Sav). Although I try not to follow all the masses up the intestines of the Sheffield lads, its difficult when everything they touch turns into gold dust, and their cover version of Girls Aloud Love Machine is quickly becoming they're most requested songs at their live gigs (what other gigs are there!!!)
Ha, so far this little bit is going seamlessly (apart from that new dictionary addition). Sooo...speaking of cover versions (you see!), The Starting Line's punk resurrection of Starship's Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now is pure college spunk, that does indeed remind me of those younger days singing along to All The Small Things, and if it hasn't yet been used on some Mandy Moore teen romantic comedy then production starts tomorrow. While we're in the mood for a bit of 3rd-Generation-Greenday-fathered-American-rock, Gym Class Heroes will have to get a look in.
Not only being content with being signed to Fall Out Boy's very own record label they come as the bands hot tip for a Judas style conquering of their crown, and this song, Taxi Driver, is noted as their best so far. Name dropping a whole host of post and pre-pubic piers it's two minutes of jamming that finishes all too quickly (probably couldn't fit any more names into a strange lyrical context).
Whilst we thank the star spangled banner for blessing us with musical genesis'', we may well as bring in the second coming of Jack White and his new band The Raconteurs, a who's who of the genre's history. Steady As She Goes is their first single, now given a full blown release on CD after last months limited LP adventure. Another bandd tipping their toes and trying the water is The Harrisons and their classic weekend tune 'Go Out Tonight'.
Stinking of left over sweat from a fight between the Sex Pistols punk revolution and the adrenalin of BritPop, we are left with I'm going out tonight, cos the TV's full of shit- Shakespeare sighs in his grave. Hot on The Harrisons heels are The Holloways, hauntingly similar hissing of highly hypnotic chartable hits. Phew.

This chirpy tune will sum up every student's 3 years of debts and partying with Hardship loans, and those where the days... with chords of sunshine and a feel good vibe that almost puts the pounds back in your bank.
I'm glad I've ventured down the new band line as there seems to be so much good new music out there. The one that is currently blowing my socks off, is Panic!

At The Disco's But It's Better If You Do
. Another thorough bred from the Fall Out Boy stables, this tune will amaze you with its cross overs on first listen.
It does something that sounds so simple and daring at the same time, and makes a lot of the other great music around at the moment sound ordinary, it's better that you listen then let my words taint your opinion. As we're doing thee links perfectly this month, then the mention of Ordinary will shortly be followed by Boys and their new single, a remix non the less of Lady Sovereigns nine2five.

It's a song that has been waking me for work for the last four months, though I am now a bit scared of over exposure, nevertheless enjoy the vibes while you can and let it wake you quicker then a bottle of Boost.
