The Landaus - 5 Track Demo Reviewed By Steve Rudd

If the likes of Razorlight can take the nation by storm as they have, then so can these young upstarts from Hull. Each of these five tracks is a chart-hungry monster, packed to the hernia-inducing hilt with jaw-dropping melodies and soul-filled vocal performances that have the power not only to break one's fickle heart, but to effectively smash to smithereens. Exhilarating indie-rooted rock 'n' roll is the order of The Landaus' day, with their Waste Of Time tune getting things off to a whip-cracking start, being a pacey and catchy rocker that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that these lads are sensational musicians.

Sweet But Tree is dominated by its beastly bass-line, before the tantalisingly tuneful Ladykiller shoulder-barges Rockin Chair, that in turn works its way into Walk Around. They've already taken Hull's music-scene by storm over the past couple of years, and this has been partly thanks to ace promoter and all-round great music obsessive Glenn Williams, as well as due to the glaring fact that they're an awesome band.
