I watch intently looking for answers to this destructive down-beat elegy continuing unabated, glorying in glamorous deconstruction. Nail bitingly good I write during a particularly scary moment. With this type of music I feel you have to give yourself over to it completely lose yourself your sense of space and let the sounds lead your mind to where they may.

From somewhere I hear the sound of laughter, though no such sound has been created. Is it derision from my inner being? I ponder whether these hypnotic soundscapes can provide a metaphysical doorway to the soul; the chance to see, deep beneath what we outwardly portray unto the world? Curiouser and curiouser said Alice.

Some wag quoted Jack Nicholson when describing the band tonight saying, "You're a disgrace to depression" another felt it was all Art house w**k. The audience, that had been strong for the first band, had steadily dwindled throughout the evening in cynical fashion. It is true that The Clauberg Opera don't give you an easy ride.

But they invite you to break free of the constraints of what is popularly socially acceptable as music, and with the live show challenge the norms and values of performance. At no time do the players attempt to connect with the listeners; no introductions, explanations or ill-advised quips about their lives.

The spectacle continues with The Dying Hour a monasterial track that implodes in a furious mid section as sonic fallout spreads fountain like from the source. This is just one standout track taken from the new offering Build The Abomination; a seven track CD that acts as a series of sound injections that stimulate yet disorient any who stray far enough of the beaten path to find one.

The sleeve artwork has been done in chalks so that people can place their finger print on the dusty surface to make each one individual to its owner.

Once again the three piece consisting of guitarist, drummer and bassist return to 2004 and perform Flight of the Earls. More of the insistent percussion salvo from Cidney Sorry (I have your set list complete with Deicide cross drawn on it) and moulding melting guitar lines interwoven with bass sounds from Monster are present. As the mysterious guitarist figure drops to her knees as if to give the last rights to her instrument I imagine musicians dieing, only to be exhumed to play on this singular night. The final track tonight is taken once again from Build The Abomination which was written and recorded during two weeks in July.
