Jim Lines and Gary Rex of Portsmouth based band Ricky visited Hull as part of the relentless process of recording local school children performing a football chant. This is for their forthcoming single, a football inspired indie-anthem for the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany. The premise is simple; wouldn't it be great to have the sound of a massive crowd at the beginning of the song to really add some atmosphere?

From humble beginnings the project has grown into something that football crazy Jim and Gary freely admit has taken over their lives. The original idea was simply to record a handful of schools in their hometown, but the enthusiasm and interest that the plan generated evolved to such an extent that they have been obliged to take it nationwide.

If they reach a figure of 60,000 children chanting, the band have a potentially massive hit single on their hands, as well as a Guinness World Record. Jim and Gary visited three high schools in the city on their whistle-stop tour - Endeavour, Kingswood and Newland School for Girls. All three visits were highly successful as the band's enthusiasm and belief in the record easily won the children over.

Performing the popular football terrace chant of EASY...EASY...EASY, as seen on Soccer AM, Jim and Gary induced louder and louder performances from their audiences. The final mix of the single will be ready for June 2006 with all schools receiving a copy.
