I watched, with anarchic glee, as he proceeded to scrape the panic stricken strings of the flashing turquoise guitar along the mic stand. Over the last few months Digsy has become more and more destructive on stage. But don't worry he hasn't succumbed to the madness off rock n roll excess, nor is he filled with such vitriol that he has to push himself to more and more outrageous actions to satisfy the inner monster. No, what is occurring is perhaps even more disturbing. He is fully aware and carries out these explosive outbursts like he does the rest of his life, with a huge grin and a sparkly demeanour.

If the kids want angry rock 'n' roll then The Fifty-Nine Violets will deliver more than they bargained for, much more.

Needless to say the set was awesome and featured Penny Black, Thugg and Time and more Violets standards. Yeah yeah yeah stopped abruptly and appeared to have been cut short. It would be a landmark moment to see the Southside Freedom Fighters merge, with the band incarnation live on stage. To demonstrate categorically that you can have widely differing musical styles and tastes without losing musical credibility. Chords like sirens emanate from Chris's guitar as more carefully timed eruptions leave the mic stand leaning at a precarious angle half off the stage.

Look towards the back and you will see Andy pausing, giving another roguish smile before embarking on more snare crashing, cymbal smashing merriment.

Then there's Bill on bass; the only bass player that comes near to him for sheer god like genius is Mad Mike of Shindigg fame; now sadly left. Slapping and popping then taking the bass lines for ten-mile hikes, just try and take your eyes of Digsy for a second and watch this guy play. He lends the sound life and a vivacity that can't fail to impress. The Fifty-Nine Violets produced a performance that was both totally engrossing and entertaining; an electric stage presence that's tighter than Bush's grip on Tony's dangly bits.
