Fuji Heavy - Demo By Steve Rudd

One of the most magnificently original and shamelessly eccentric demos that I've heard in absolutely ages, these three tracks from this refreshing Brighton band might just blow you away for good. The type of music herein is almost impossible to categorise, as the delightfully contemporary Prog-Rock Sunburn hurls itself at you in a most explosively intense manner.

The crazily ambitious song structure is charming, and you would be forgiven for thinking that all musical elements had simply been whipped together in a mad frenzy and cranked to the highest possible volume wherever and whenever recorded. Face Like A Criminal is, in comparison, rather more chilled-out.

Underpinned by an ear-pleasing guitar chug, the accompanying vocals sound as though they've been sung by Mark E. Smith during an 'on' day when the drink hadn't quite taken its toll.
