|
Don't be fooled however by the seemingly placid intro to this new page- I rarely mince my words once any intro is over and in the words of a one time big musical philosopher "I like to party. Everybody does.".
So I wish all clubbers, whatever type you may be, luck in their quests for euphoria, laughter, good times and happiness.
Remember what were interested in here on the nightclubs page is your experiences!

Welly club on Beverley Road
|
Well, the Welly club on Beverley Road. What can I say?? Fab? Great? Alternative? Friendly? 'avin it large? Cool? Yep all of those and more. This club has one of the most varied alternative scenes I know of. From drum and bass nights (shinobi) to indie nights (yo-yo) Welly really is the cracking place to be seen. I gotta say that it is the music, punters, bar staff, door staff, management, cloak attendants and all who enter this great club that give it that air of ?

I just can't put my finger on it ! something great and unique anyway. I have been going to Welly since its last re-opening (and a few times before it closed- not been in 'Ull that long) and have been to many different nights (and days). According to a couple of my sources - the older crew! - you could, in the 70's , go to the Welly and listen to the likes of Lynard Skynard whilst the crappy disco revolution was raining all around outside. If anyone has photos of the Welly club from whenever I would really appreciate it if you could let me have squint at them. E.mail me ! .

Fiction - ICU@ABC By Rich Mills

by Rich Mills
During those pre-teen days of dramatic sexual awakenings, Roy always strived and usually achieved, a brief respite of self-indulgent escapism. By scraping together un-spent bus fares and school dinner money he'd often have enough to visit the local cinema most weeks.

In my student days going for a cup of coffee meant slouching along to The Buttery ( now Staff House ) at the University on Cottingham Road.

Interviews - Robert Needham Sculptor

That's when I met Robert Needham. My first impression was that maybe he was a member of the clergy, presenting me with a warm smile and outstretched hand,
smartly dressed, little thin maybe, definitely an interesting looking character.

After a long time out of Hull I bumped into a friend who has lived in Edinburgh Street
