Steve Larkman CD Release - The Start of the End of The World
|
|
Steve Larkman has released a new album The Start of the End of the World.
Following his debut Album Tearjerker and it's single release, Thin White Dove
which proved an enormous success in the Irish charts, Steve is hoping for more
success with his latest release.
His single from the new album, Chasing Rainbows has already been play-listed by Eddie West
of Ireland's Downtown Radio and is also being played by 3 other indie radio stations in
Northern Ireland.
|
Steve is expecting other tracks from The Start of the End of the World to be
play-listed soon and he's going to be interviewed on Downtown radio about the new release.
A native of Hull (born down De la pole Avenue) and presently living in Hessle,
Steve has been in the music business for several years.
The Start of the End of the World was written and completed in 14 just weeks,
with all the music on the album written, performed and produced by Steve.
He says; I set the deadline and stuck to it. I took the photo on the front
cover, it's the Hessle sky on a summer day.
|
The album is on the angelmusicplus label and can be found at Virgin and HMV shops and also at
Solarise Records www.solarise.com
and www.CDwow.com
The more music that I can create, the more I learn so I like to get things finished and now I'm
onto new songs. It's great fun and I'm very thankful that I can do this.
More details about Steve and his music can be found on his website,

Sweet n Sour at the Welly Club 19th August - 5678's, 59 Violets and The Morphines By Andy Dykes
|
|
I've heard tonight's openers The Morphines described as something like Ian Curtis singing
with The Clash.
If my musical arithmetic is correct, then The Morphines should sound something like Sham 69.
And they do. A bit.
While the garage rock revival grips the world like nuclear war, The Morphines hark back to an era

|

Whilst stuck at traffic lights in Witham ( Hull ) I heard a wonderful sound. No, not Dale Winton
announcing my lottery numbers but something almost as good. Rock music in Hull !!!.
I pinched myself and it hurt. I then saw a poster on the old pub on

Music Reviews - HarriWatts Band Comin' Out Party At The Lamp Wednesday 4th August By Jane Foster
|
|
This is the first time I've really seen the Harri Watts band properly.
I did in theory see them at the Lamp once before, at the Cracktown Christmas Carol last year.
But that was after several flagons of fine ale and much good cheer, with a bit of
rubber chicken abuse thrown in.
A perfect night in my book,

Music Reviews - Sons of the Desert at the Nagshead Friday 30th July By Jane Foster
|
|
Sons of the Desert are a 9-piece soul covers band who have been dishing
out their fine meaty goods to the people of 'ull for roundabout a decade..give or take
a few changes in their line-up over the years.
Last time I saw them was last Christmas at the selfsame pub, and I thought they were
rather grand then, so I

Jaz Bar 10th August 2004 The Ludes, The Mardous, 59 Violets, The Applewhites By Andy Dykes
|
|
The classy setting of the Old Town's Jaz Bar plays unlikely host to a range of bands tonight. The wooden floors and high concrete ceilings make Jaz Bar an unusual choice for this evening's entertainment. Combined with an absence of carpets, cushions on chairs and curtains on windows and I get the feeling that there are going to be a

Music Reviews - CrackTown, Purple Organ & Blue Sand at The Adelphi Saturday 24th July By Michelle Dee
|
|
I am lucky to count King Rat and the Silver Fox as friends, so you can imagine my surprise and
delight when upon entering the Adelphi on a rainy summer night, I heard the familiar
sound of Foxy's harmonica emanating from within.
I had no idea they were on tonight's eclectic line up.

Forget Glastonbury, Reading and T in the Park, this years annual
Nigefest, a tribute to Hull promoter Nigel Holmes birthday, was in full swing as my Lady and I

It didn't take long to spot Nigel, who, as Sheffield Metal band Headup were beating

I arrive early (ish) at The Welly tonight, but still have to queue quite far back.
By the time I reach the door, the line behind me is about to snake round the side of the club.
I've got a feeling tonight is going to be busy. But then why wouldn't it be?
