As for seeing them play live well it's just sheer magic. The raw passion of Kenny Other, the anthem Bleed Myself and an absolutely stunning version of the epic Let It Rain were just some of the highpoints in their set. A track called Chlorine Eyes, which gets better and better with every hearing was then followed by the achingly beautiful End Of The World. This should have been in my opinion a fully-fledged single it is far too good for B-side obscurity.

Gaz the charismatic lead singer returned home from Spain recently. Upon his arrival he found out that in his absence the rest of the band had penned a new song Love to hate you with Alan taking the lead vocal. They treated us to the first airing of this song. Alan got the chance to command the stage and he smiled more which is always good. If only the gorgeous bassist Ellie would give a little shimmy from time to time they'd have it made.

Blue Sand have a relaxed professionalism that belies their tender years and have every chance of achieving sustained success more so than any other local band. With more exposure, a little airplay, positive promotion and a lot of hard work they could attract a huge following.

The band intend to record in London in the near future which could result in the release of a debut album. Blue Sand make the world worth living in and never fail to raise the bar for other groups to aim at. Paul Jackson yet again showed bravery and a commitment to local bands by bringing new, original music from near and far to the renowned Adelphi Club on De Grey Street. Well done that man.
