Music Live Band Nightclubs Reviews
The landaus (Grimsby Auditorium 15th November 2004)
By The Lazyswede

The Landaus arrived in the dressing room to be greeted by Freefaller-The Noise next door Dominic Paul and Frencheryk. It didn't take long before the games started and the ice was broken and everyone was running around laughing and joking with each other and the backstage shenanigans started, even for us oldies being with all these young artists somehow brought the child out in us after many years.

The door to the dressing room opened and in walked some well-dressed girls who had been bored sitting in their own dressing room and they were The 411 and believe me the room lit up! Even I got my two penneth worth in and soon realised that all these artists are great young kids and backstage you get to see a side of them that people tend to forget about artists they are like everyone else just down to earth people who have been given an opportunity of a lifetime and are loving every second of it.
I had a quick walk around and got a few autographs (not that I did it for myself) the first people I asked were Natasha Bedingfield and Darius, nice people but surrounded by the press and big strong men??? (HMMM Maybe!!! I was bigger than most of the bodyguards, and with my shaved head and "LOOKING LIKE THE BOUNCER FROM HELL" I think even they had to look twice at this monster looming over them) anyway that was that part of a promise I made out of the way.
The show started and Natasha Bedingfield was the first on stage and the screaming started. She did a good set and the fans were going crazy, we were rushed back to the dressing room to get the instruments because The Landaus were the next band on. Can you imagine trying to follow an act like Natasha? Well, Foxy & Tom from Viking FM were up on stage warming the crowd up even more. They introduced The Landaus and the crowd screamed even though they did not know who the band were.

They were stars because they were on the stage after Natasha. Stefan walked out first with his usual naked top and he was sat behind his drums on a pedestal which was about 8foot off the ground (the crowd were still screaming) then Loz gave a little speech and introduced the first song which was Sweet but true and the auditorium came to life. The lads were on the right stage in the right place and no matter what anyone may say they were a top act last night. There youthfulness shone through and they were truly a chart band like all the rest who were to appear throughout the evening.
The bands that performed were fantastic and even for me at my age it brought back a spark of life I had forgotten somewhere. I realised it does not matter how old you are, when the music starts your as young as you feel.

All in all The Landaus did Hull proud last night and after the show they were mobbed by hoards of screaming fans they ended up getting the shirts ripped off of their backs.
The lads were loving every second of it, all the fans wanted was to be kissed and hugged and a million photos taken with their new found IDOLS. They lost count how many autographs they had to sign. Last night The Landaus entered the realms of being mini superstars on a stage packed with some of the UK's top chart bands and this is not the last time it will happen. Viking FM were fantastic and all the DJ's did their usual thing it's no wonder these guys have the jobs they have.

One by one the newspapers came and interviewed each act in turn and then came the turn of the TV crews which The Landaus handled very well indeed in true rock & roll fashion.
At the end of the evening the screaming fans were waiting outside the back door waiting to catch a last glimpse of the stars. Photos were taken and more autographs signed then we all said our goodbyes. One by one the bands drove off into the darkness and off to their next gigs.

The curtain dropped on, what in my opinion was, a great night. A night that this old man will not forget for a very long-time, but believe me when the next one arrives I will be there backstage.
