It's been a while since we've had a band in Hull to fill the void left by DumpValve, since they took a heavier more thrashy direction. Well, now such a band exists in the Form of Le Shed, who many will have seen gigging like mad round Hull in recent months, building up a healthy profile. And now it was the turn of The Ringside to host them on it's well established Wednesday rock night live.

The band appeared to be an amiable bunch and proved to be well talented, with their brand of funky heavy metal, which I guess a lazy writer might suggest to be Nu-Metal, though I would argue it is very different. Bands whose sound I found infused in their songs range from Rage Against the Machine to Pearl Jam to Black Sabbath, with a nod to vintage Red Hot Chili Peppers, and they have a knack with a decent tune.

Whilst this wasn't the busiest gig I've seen them do (possibly due to their heavy gigging schedule leading to their fans suffering gig fatigue) it was a warm reception they got. Anyone going out on a Wednesday night could do worse than check The Ringside out as I have witnessed some top gigs there already, with more promised.
