Music Reviews - The Displacements at the Polar Bear By Steve Rudd
|
|
Three bands were on for what was the Polar Bear's first ever Melodic Punk/Grunge/Ska type night.
A fairly large crowd saw all girl band Black Orchid, Green Ginger and headliners Displacements all contributing to an extremely successful night.
So successful that the organiser said that despite it

Winnebago Deal, Killer of Saints and Brassik Lynt At Full Metal Jacket, The Asylum, Hull Student Union - 30th April 04 By Adam Kilsby (Full Galleries).

|
Friday 30th April saw Asylum's monthly rock night, Full Metal Jacket, ending its most successful year in style.
As well as the usual musical mayhem that can be found on the night, as a special treat the organisers laid on three bands.
First up were Brassik Lynt. Due to the early stage time Asylum was still

Million Dead, The Freaks Union and Silence In The Streets At the Welly - 27th April 04 By Dom (plus Gallery)
|
|
Tonight's show was put on and promoted by the WellyClub. They really surpassed themselves promoting this show, I can't remember ever being at a show as full as
this in Hull.
There were well over 300 people attending and due to the size of the venue it was the perfect amount. I haven't been into the big room since it's been

Music Reviews - Mad Crowd Disease is a punk band. By Brian
|
|
The bottom line; Mad Crowd Disease is a punk band.
They don't claim to be anything else. Don't want to be anything else.
Off stage, Cal, Danny and Gaz are pleasant enough young men, on stage however, they seem to transform, Hyde-like, into aggressive noise merchants, peddling their own brand of punk.

Music Reviews-
Electric Eel Shock & Antiproduct at The Kazbah, Scarborough 25th March 04 By Steve Rudd
|
|
Antiproduct is the coolest and most exhilarating punk band since The Sex Pistols.
Stopping at nothing to put on the most entertaining show possible at every gig they play, this wacky quintet might be based in London, but they make it known loud-and-clear that they prefer

Music Reviews - Adelphi, Hull, 18th April
Jaws drop in Hull and appreciation for local bands rise.
By Mike Rofone

Crowbar Smile, DUMPVALVE, Mad Crowd Disease, Multiple Injuries, Planet 10
It's cold, it's wet and it's miserable. Now there are two things I could do on this gloomy Sunday afternoon in April.
Number one; I could stay at home in a lovely quiet village, pondering how I've become so overdrawn and kick myself when I figure out the reason.
Or,

Multiple Injuries at The Ringside, Hull - Wednesday 14th April 2004 By Dick Spring
|
|
This venue is a new addition to the Hull circuit, and I was informed that the booking is in the very capable hands of Determination Inc (who were the driving force behind, the late, lamented, Moriarty's ) and are bringing the magic touch to this venue, with a newly installed 2k PA system.
The new Wednesday night

Music Reviews-
Jesse James / Fraction of the Cost / The Trailers
The Adelphi, Thur 15th April 2004 By Mike Rofone.
|
|
Entering the Adelphi Club and hearing a band completing their sound check is never an unusual thing.
To be quite honest it's welcoming, like an appetiser it gets your taste buds going making you anxious to try the first course.
As usual, the Adelphi is always welcoming, its timeless décor and stale smells of spilt booze and stubbed out cigarettes

Music Reviews-
Jesse James / Fraction of the Cost / The Trailers
The Adelphi, Thur 15th April 2004 By Dick Spring
|
|
Smash it Up teamed up with the Adelphi to bring the self styled Punk Soul Brothers Jesse James back to the Adelphi.
Yet another busy night, as always when Jesse James swing into town. First up were three piece pop punk band THE TRAILERS from Bridlington, and contrary to reports about them being dreadfully bad, I can report

Misic Reviews - The Bivouac - Duke of Wellington, Lincoln - Friday 9th April By Sue Watson
|
|
Featuring DumpValve, Mad Crowd Disease, Faith in Chaos and Ringworm
This promised to be an interesting night, as I had only seen 2 of the bands before and had never visited the Bivouac before.
We arrived early and witnessed a very rare thing - a proper sound check.
The guy who runs the place, Steve Hawkins had
