PRESS RELEASE - 07/10/2003
The DEEP turns into a nightclub 31/10/2003
|
-
Friday October 31st
-
Yorkshire and Hull based company Ifgraduates (www.ifgraduates.com) will be holding their third and largest event yet. This marks the start of a new style of nightclubbing, which is not confined by the constraints of traditional clubs but instead makes use of the city's 'icon' buildings in ways previously not envisioned.
|
|
-
This Halloween The Deep will play host to a nightclub event the likes of which Yorkshire has never seen. Fire-eaters and steel band music will meet party goers as they enter one of Hull's most famous buildings and see it as it has never been used before. Dancers clad in voodoo outfits and a strong Caribbean theme throughout, will add to the uniqueness of the night.
-
The venue will have two main areas, the first in the viewing room looking out into the estuary and the second by the main tank with its views of the fish. Each area will have a distinct style of music, which will evolve as the night goes on. Renaissance dance music will progress into house music, and Northern soul will mutate into R&B, reflecting the mood of the audience.
-
For those wanting food or just to chill out and listen to a steel band a third 'beach barbeque' area will be outside.
|
|
-
Smirnoff are looking to tie in the national relaunch of both Smirnoff Ice and Smirnoff Black with the event, so there will be numerous drinks promotions connected to these products throughout the night.
-
This is going to be an enormous night attracting audiences from all over the North. Make sure you don't miss out.
-
Tickets are priced £10 and can be bought at Base Spin, Virgin, HMV, Space Clothing, the International Office at the University of Hull, University of Hull Careers Service in the Students Union, Sharkeys and Planet Coffee.
-
Any questions then give Carl or Andy a ring in the office on 01482 211355.
-
Why sleep with the fishes when you can dance with them?

NightClub Reviews - Fuel NightClub By Carolyn
|
|
As Friday night bounced away in its masses I hot footed it along with photographer Dee down to the opening night of Hulls newest café bar/nightclub FUEL. And what a splendicious night we embarked on!. I had the level of fun that only a damn good sun drenched, off-it and 'avin it week away gives you. As the flyer so confidently and rightly said

It had been a long day covering Grass Roots Sunday festival in Pearson Park, and after a short kip I was to skip down to the Adelphi Nightclub where I had a couple of beers and took some photos and details of the acts and performers for www.thisisUll.com

Nightclub Reviews - Welly club on Beverley Road
|
|
By Carolyn
Well, the Welly club on Beverley Road. What can I say?? Fab? Great? Alternative? Friendly? 'avin it large? Cool? Yep all of those and more. This club has one of the most varied alternative scenes I know of. From drum and bass nights (shinobi) to indie nights (yo-yo) Welly really is the cracking place to be seen. I gotta say that it is the music, punters, bar staff, door staff, management, cloak attendants and all who enter this great club that give it that air of ?

Fiction - ICU@ABC By Rich Mills
|
|
by Rich Mills
During those pre-teen days of dramatic sexual awakenings, Roy always strived and usually achieved, a brief respite of self-indulgent escapism. By scraping together un-spent bus fares and school dinner money he'd often have enough to visit the local cinema most weeks.
