World of Warcraft (PC)
By Stephen Bielby. (1/2)
(ONLINE GAME ONLY - Game Subscription is required!)
next page

Since the year 2000, there have been some pretty amazing online games, with games like The Matrix Online, EverQuest, EverQuest 2, Star Wars Galaxies, City of Heroes and a whole host of other online games, but now there is another one that has recently been added to shop shelves, it's name; World of Warcraft.

World of Warcraft is a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game).
For those who aren't familiar with MMORPG's then here's a brief example of what they are:
  • More than 1 Million people can play an MMORPG at any time.
  • Start with a basic character and try to make that character the most powerful character that has ever been created on the MMORPG that you just happen to be playing.
  • Trade items with other online characters.
  • Create Clans or Guilds (A group of friends) to conquer powerful enemies.
  • Feel part of a virtual world with dragons and beasts that are hunted in the World of Warcraft for the ultimate treasure.
  • Please Note: A subscription fee is required to play any MMORPG's, please check that you are able to pay the required fee!
So let's get back to the review for the World of Warcraft. This game has power and performance written all over it, because even though it's a big game it really does need a good PC. I know this because I play my online games and if the PC hasn't got a good enough specification then it's performance won't be very good.

I have spent a lot of money on upgrades so that I can play games so I thought that you all should know, please see the following World of Warcraft requirements:
  • 800Mhz Processor or Higher... I recommend a 1.2Ghz Processor.
  • 256Mb RAM or Higher... its ok... I recommend 512MB or 1.2GB of RAM.
  • 32MB Graphics Card or Higher... your graphics will definitely be rubbish... I definitely recommend at least 128MB Graphics Card from either ATI or Nvidia, which has to be DirectX 9 compatible.
  • 4GB Hard Drive space is required.
  • 56k Internet Connection... I recommend Broadband.
With World of Warcraft being what it is, I'd say it has the best of EverQuest 2 and City of Heroes, giving the player of this game everything they want, giving their character extensive abilities, trades and items they will ever need as well as style of the moment.
