Half-Life 2
By Stephen Bielby

The original Half-Life (created by Valve) was first released in 1998. It amazed the gaming industry by its excellent game play, action and its excellent storyline. Being one of the fastest selling games since 1990 it ended up winning 50 game-of-the-year awards.

It was also named Best PC Game Ever by PC Gamer. Half-Life being a very impressive game... it sold more than 8 Million copies worldwide.
Valve recently released a new game, a game that would push graphics to new lengths and would give gamers the best game play they have ever seen. With this they created Half-Life 2, a first person shooter much like the original, with the same character that the player controls. His name; Freeman (Mr. Gordon Freeman who is a research scientist), he was the man who helped save the day in Half-Life and all the expansion packs.

But in Half-Life 2 he has to do it all over again when Earth is infested with aliens and has had its recourses depleted and its population decreasing but he has to do this in a very large city and other environments to save the planet.
The aliens are also weird too, but you are the only person who can rid them from our world.
So hey if you have deep pockets and can pay £40 to £50 then I'm telling you, you have to buy this... it's a definite 10 out of 10. My reason for this is that I have never before seen the game play it has to offer. It is very realistic and very detailed, the physics engine it has is by far the best I have seen.
The intense, real-time game play of Half-Life 2 is made possible only by Source®, Valve's new proprietary engine technology. Source provides major enhancements in:

Characters - Advanced facial animation system delivers the most sophisticated in-game characters ever seen. With 40 distinct facial muscles, human characters convey the full array of human emotion, and respond to the player with fluidity and intelligence.

Physics - From pebbles to water to 2-ton trucks respond as expected, as they obey the laws of mass, friction, gravity, and buoyancy.
Graphics - Source's shader-based renderer, like the one used at Pixar to create movies such as Toy Story® and Monster's, Inc.®, creates the most beautiful and realistic environments ever seen in a video game.

AI - Neither friends nor enemies charge blindly into the fray. They can assess threats, navigate tricky terrain, and fashion weapons from whatever is at hand.

Kids Articles - Fisher Park By Richard Clancy, Kayleigh Gouldson and Taking Pictures By Kyle
I went to Fisher Park to make a film and take photographs of the local area. I think that the graffiti on Fisher park 'sucks' because graffiti is horrible. It makes the area look worse than it already is. I like living on Orchard Park, but it doesn't look very nice. The older youths in the area make it worse with all the graffiti they spray all over the place. Read more...
