Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth
By Stephen Bielby

Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth (Out 8th December 2004) is one of the greatest strategy games I have ever seen! If I had to rate this game on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd have to give it a definite 10.

This is because of the story line and everything I have seen in the video clips and screenshots. If strategy is your cup of tea then Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth is the game for you.
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth has a lot of bonus features on the game disc(s), which has the making of the game and lots of other features. I think Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth is great to buy for yourself or as a Christmas present for £35.00 (The price may change)!

The game (Pictured Right) is available on the PC as a normal PC-CD ROM or as a DVD-ROM. Please make sure your disc drive can play DVD's if you want the DVD version, if you don't have a DVD Drive then buy the PC-CD ROM version. Please read the System Requirements at the bottom of this review.
If you like strategy war games like Command & Conquer: Generals or Lord of the Rings: War of the Ring then this is the game for you.

If you like the Lord of the Rings movies and thought it would be really cool to command the armies and heroes of Middle Earth then this is a game you must buy. Having the Ability to control both Good & Evil armies aswell as heroes like Legolas, Aragorn, Gimli and many other heroes throughout the game.
Every battle from the movies has been crammed into the game. You have the power to command a base, which you have to strategically position your buildings so the most important ones don't come under attack. Each building gets upgraded after you build a certain amount of soldiers so that your armies can become even more powerful.
One thing I'd say that is cool is that when a Troll (monster) stands only a few feet from the Men of Gondor (men) sometimes they'll stand and fight or they will run away in fear. When they are ready they'll comeback and fight it, but this time they may come back in greater numbers and kill it. If you feel that Men of Gondor may not be able to kill it then send a larger creature like an Ent, which leaves the Troll out, matched.
If you send the Men of Gondor to fight it and the Troll swings his club and it hits them they may die in 1 hit, this also happens with all armies too. So this proves that you must be wise on which units you send to battle.

There is an excellent world map that's like a level select but more advanced. Your armies are strategically positioned on the map, then you can move them to each battle area and play that battle with however many armies you send.
Navigate the map of Middle-Earth or go to the special features and watch each part of INSIDE THE BATTLE which are all about the making of the game etc.
