Interview - Skate Park

The skate park at the K.C. (Kingston Communications) Stadium, which is free to go to is a fun place to skate and just chill with friends. We caught up with seven year old Floyd who told us all about it. "The skate park is open for all and has some great facilities - half pipes, ramps, rails etc. I have met lots of new friends since I have started going to the KC Skate Park. It is great, everyone is really friendly and everybody cares for one another, making sure that the least possible accidents happen. There is no arrogance when I am there, although there are some pretty good people there who tend to show off a lot. They like to be the centre of attention. There are loads of kids ranging from the my age, seven, up to late teens.

Everyone seems to take advantage of the great stuff that Kingston Communications have provided for us! I truly do recommend it to anybody, even if you don't like skating and stuff like that, there are many other great facilities in the very large building. There are no supervisors, but like most sports there are always bound to be a few scrapes and scratches, as well as very sore bruises! I don't wear any protection (ie. Knee pads, arm pads, helmets) because getting bruises is fun! I have had millions of bangs and grazes just from being there twice. I just cant help it, they seem to come from nowhere. I only just started skating a few months ago but I reckon that I am really good for a seven year old! It's a lot harder than it looks, and I sometimes find it difficult. But practise makes perfect and I am willing to carry on until I am great at it!

I would give the skating park a massive thumbs up and tell you that it is definitely 100% great for the fun, and although I have only been twice, its BRILLIANT!" Floyd also told us that you can go there in the daytime, and when the academic term begins again, you can go there after school, which he has attended once. So anyone that is into skating, whether a pro or just a first timer, be sure to check out the new skate park at the KC Stadium - we are sure that you will love it just as much as Floyd does!
