Reviews - Tuesday 8th July 08 - Mexican Exhibition at Planet Coffee
By Bella Wykes age 10

We went along to Planet Coffee this evening to see the Mexican Exhibition.
The atmosphere was busy and full of children and families. We met Patty one of the organisers and we got ourselves a chocolate and coffee to drink. I enjoyed the chocolate drink so I would recommend it.
They gave out chips and guacamole for us to try from Mexico. There were lots of instruments. Miguel, a man we met, was playing the maracas and he also showed me how to do a Mexican High Five handshake.

I interviewed Mary, his wife and she said 'This event was great and there were lots of people from lots of countries. There should be more events like this.'
Mary met Miguel in Mexico on holiday, then returned to stay and marry him soon after.

Claudia is Patty's friend and also from Mexico. She has lived in Hull for one year. She learned English in Mexico and said 'The weather is much nicer in Mexico, but I'm getting used to it here.'

I very much enjoyed this evening and look forward to more events coming this week.
Checkout the next Mexican Fiesta on Saturday 12th July for traditional music and dance and Mexican culture.

7 Till 11 pm at Chill Café Bar on Newland Avenue. It's Free entry and everyone is welcome.
