Part-Time Youth Worker At Recycling Unlimited - Closing Date: Monday 11th June 07
|
Recycling Unlimited are looking to recruit a part-time Youth Worker for16 hours per week on a fixed term contract for 6 months. Salary commensurate with experience and skills.
Recycling Unlimited run a skills and employability programme for young people aged between 16 and 19, and up to 25 if they suffer from learning disabilities.
The purpose of the programme is to help socially disadvantaged young people to overcome barriers for employment and achieve their full potential through preparing them for work and further vocational training.
The programme involves young people living in conditions of social disadvantage, and ethnic minority groups. The programme consists of two different set of activities:

Vocational training and practical activities to increase the chances of employment

Job searching skills (including job searching skills and preparation of CVs and job interviews)
|
|
The specific duties for this position will be:
-
Recruiting young people for the training and employability programmes
-
Co-ordinating the Young People Programme of Recycling Unlimited which includes vocational, confidence building and employability activities
-
Developing learning activities and socially inclusive training for disadvantaged young people
-
Delivering workshops and provide support to help young people to write CVs, search for jobs and prepare for job interviews
|

Becoming involved in vocational training as a hands-on youth worker, e.g. gardening, carpentry, office work, computing skills and renovation of furniture
-
Developing quality standards to satisfy customers' needs
-
Keep accurate records and files of all activities carried out

In partnership with the rest of the team raise the profile of Recycling Unlimited
-
Ensure that all personal and financial information is kept confidential in line with the 1998 Data Protection Act
-
Assist in the co-ordination of the day to day operation of the charity, as requested by the project manager

Deadline for applications is Monday 11th June 2007.
Interviews will take place on Friday 15th June 2007.
The successful applicant will start on Monday 25th June 2007 or soon after.
