Regional Co-ordinator Physical Activity - Yorkshire Culture .EXPIRES 22 May 2006- Vacancy Filled

Yorkshire Culture is the lead body for the region's cultural strategy: 'deep roots, real achievements, lofty ambitions' and regional cultural action plan 2004 - 2006. The cultural strategy includes sport, arts, museums, libraries, heritage and tourism issues. This is a senior level regional co-ordinator post working with key strategic partners from the public, voluntary and private sectors, involved in implementing the Yorkshire and the Humber Physical Activity Framework. The post will lead and actively influence partners and partnerships at the regional, sub-regional and local levels, to achieve the six objectives set out in the Framework, ensuring maximum impact of existing resources and securing increased investment in physical activity across the region.

Salary is £39,000 to £45,000 per annum (plus pension benefits) and is based at Minerva House, Leeds. The post is fixed term for one year, with the possibility of extension dependent upon funding.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have a proven track record of working at a senior level within the health, sport and / or cultural sector, achieving results through partnership working. The post holder will provide strategic leadership and be responsible for initiating and developing new ways of working, across the key sectors involved in physical activity development and delivery within the region. The post holder will work at a senior level with a high degree of self management and decision making and be responsible for regional physical activity staff and programmes.
