'Making an Impact' Project Manager .EXPIRES 18th May 2006- Vacancy Filled

Making an Impact is the working title for an exciting Citizenship initiative based on a partnership between British Library Learning and Museums, Libraries and Archives, Yorkshire funded by DCMS Strategic Commissioning. It will bring together teachers, museums, libraries and archives to work with young people to produce a film, graphic novel or campaign that aims to change people's views and influence change in society.

The project will offer 3 teachers a placement with British Library Learning and 2 museums libraries and archives in Yorkshire, to produce exciting and innovative resources for young people. The purpose is to exemplify and extend an enquiry approach to Citizenship, at the heart of the region's strategy.
A creative practitioner will work with each teacher and their students in school to research their ideas and develop an innovative creative product.
Project development will commence in April 2006, with work in schools in Autumn and Spring terms 2006/7. Subject to further funding the creative products will be delivered with a series of events and resources for schools, timed for national celebrations for the End of the Slave Trade. The project will also have an evolving web presence on www.bl.uk/learning and Yorkshire's mylearning website, www.mylearning.org
