2 Independent Members Of Police Authority - Closing Date 20th October 2006- Vacancy Filled

Humberside Police Authority are currently seeking 2 new Independent Members and are keen to attract applicants from under-represented groups, particularly women, young people, people from black and ethnic minority communities, those with disabilities and other minority groups.

So if you are a good communicator, a strategic thinker, not afraid to ask tough questions and make hard choices and have the skills which could be of value to the authority, for example in personnel, business, finance, performance management or community and race relations then Humberside Police Authority would like to hear from you.
As an Independent Member of the Police Authority, you will be expected to engage with your local community and represent their views whilst also maintaining a strategic perspective on national policing issues and how they might affect policing within Humberside.

You will also be required to build productive working relationships with key personnel within the force and other criminal justice partners to ensure that 'partnership working' is fully effective and co-ordinated.

An annual allowance is payable and for this you will need to attend meetings of the Police Authority, read Committee papers and keep abreast of policing issues.
On average, you will need to commit about 7 to 10 hours each week to police authority business.
