Museum Development Officers East and West Yorkshire - Closing Date : 7th July 2006 - Vacancy Filled

MLA (Museums Libraries Archives) Yorkshire are looking for rising stars in the heritage sector to work with the region's small and medium sized museums to provide a world class offer to their communities and visitors. Salary scale SO1: £23,175 - £24,708, 37 hours per week.

As a Museum Development Officer, you will work with museums to increase and sustain user participation, provide benefits to users by developing organisations and workforces, and by improving access to and use of collections. The post holder in West Yorkshire will also develop museum fundraising activities and fundraising skills.
The successful candidates will:

Be highly motivated and self-starting

Have excellent interpersonal skills

Have a sound knowledge of the value of museums

Have some experience of the museum or heritage sector

Have experience of fundraising

Be willing to travel
The West Yorkshire post is based in Leeds and the East Yorkshire post will be based with East Riding of Yorkshire Council in Beverley.
