Adult Education Teachers in - ESOL / Literacy / Numeracy / Family Learning / Family Literacy Language and Numeracy / French / ICT / Sports Coaching / Childcare / Playwork / Teaching Assistants / Business Admin

Grade: Sixth Form Teachers Spinal Point 1-3 (£19,161- £22,314) pro rata

Hours: 6-27 hours /week

Location: Various
Adult Community Learning is committed to delivering a high quality, varied programme of courses to the adults of the city of Hull. This provision offers opportunities for learners' future employment, their personal and wider community development, contributing to the economic prosperity, social well being and health of the city's residents.

An exciting opportunity to be part of the team delivering courses is available for teachers in a variety of subjects outlined above. It is essential that the successful candidate has:-
Qualifications:
  • a teaching qualification at level 4 or commitment to commence within 12 months,
  • a good standard of English and maths at Level 2 or equivalent.
  • knowledge of recent developments in adult education and the impact adult learning has on learners' life chances.
  • knowledge and understanding of Quality Improvement and Self Assessment processes.
Experience:
  • experience of delivering courses to adult learners and involving them in programme development.
  • experience of working as part of an effective team..
  • experience of developing high quality teaching and learning materials
Specific Skills:
  • the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, to tight deadlines and be innovative.
  • I.T skills.
  • the ability to identify own development needs.
  • a commitment to promoting equality and diversity.
  • a willingness to operate under flexible working arrangements outside normal hours including at least one evening per week.
Verbal Skills
  • Good oral communications skills at all levels
  • To negotiate and resolve disputes with tact and diplomacy
  • To facilitate and negotiate with learners effectively.
Written Skills
  • Exchange information and keep learners records effectively
  • Contribute to the annual self assessment processes
  • Written and email correspondence with internal and external bodies
