After losing to top of the Elite League Belfast the previous night, The Stingrays were visiting Elite League champions Sheffield Steelers. Sheffield Steelers had most of the possession in the first period but Hull came closest to opening the scoring when a shot hit the crossbar in the dying seconds.

Paul Sample opened the scoring on 35 minutes but two and a half minutes later it was made all square when Platt cleared the puck from behind his net onto Glowa's stick and was left with a empty net to shoot at. The three hundred travelling Hull fans went ballistic as we entered the third period level.

Dion Darling regained the lead for Sheffield and when Kevin Phillips and Vladimir Chernenko where sent to the penalty box for tripping the writing was on the wall. Jeff Christian sealed the win for The Steelers.

What has happened at the house of Steel? The fans (what's left of them) only sing when they are told! I remember when we used to struggle to get tickets to a game...
