Hull Stingrays vs Belfast Giants
22nd January 05

After being knocked out of theWinter cup on Wednesday night, the Hull Stingrays had another two
hard games this weekend; Top of the Elite League Belfast Giants visited the Hull Arena on Saturday night.
George Awada gave The Giants the lead in the first period but Stingrays had chances to equalise,
especially early in the second period when Nikolaev hit the crossbar.

Two more goals for Belfast from Todd Kelman and Curt Bowen made it an uphill task for Hull but Alipov
gave the fans hope when he pulled away from the defence and shot past Martin Klempa, who looked gutted
at losing his chance of a shutout.
Hull probably just edged the third period but couldn't manage to beat Klempa ,who made two double
saves to deny Stingrays any chance of a come back.

|
Paul Staniforth was as much use as a chocolate fire guard, as usual missing two blatant butt endings by
Mel Angelstad; a high stick that nearly took out Nikolaev's eye and numerous punches that where thrown.
