Hull Stingrays vs Dundee Stars
29th December 04

Stingrays have successfully strung up a second successive League victory - after beating the
Newcastle Vipers away on Wednesday 22nd December, Stingrays raced their way to a
4-0 lead, before the Vipers made a tense end to the game by scoring 3 unanswered goals.
Stingrays managed to cling on for the win.

Next, Hull Stingrays were hosting the Dundee Stars on Wednesday 29th December.
Stingrays soon fell behind in this game as goals from David Smith and Jeff Marshall
giving the visitors an early advantage.
They clung on to this lead until the 1st break.
|
|
Stingrays returned from the 1st interval a different team and took advantage of an early power play.
Chernenko received a pass from Burgess and rifled a bullet slap shot above the screened Lindsay in the Stars net.
|
Midway through this period, Stingrays tied the game on a delayed penalty.
Koulikov collected the puck from Nikolaev, then hit a defence splitting pass across the
Dundee zone and Jeff Glowa was there to hit a 1st timer into the top corner of Lindsay's net.
Stingrays started the 3rd period in similar fashion as Nikolaev rocketed them into the lead
with a blistering shot into the corner of the Stars net.
|
|
|
Glowa then put the nail in Dundee's coffin, with almost a replica of Nikolaevs goal, which I
and many fans would expect Lindsay to save.
Paul Staniforth then washed out a Dundee goal, as the net was off its moorings.
