Hull Stingrays finished their Winter Cup group games with a
5-2 defeat to Fife Flyers.
Stingrays still finish fourth in the league and will meet Bracknell Bees
in the semi-finals.

Hull, who had Alipov out - injured after Friday night's 2-0 defeat to
Elite League Belfast Giants
, Luke Boothroyd and the Phillips brothers out on GB Under 20s duty and Scott Wray
returning Amarillo Gorillas played back up net minder Sam Roberts and played with two
lines giving the Brits plenty of opportunities.
|
|
Even though The Stingrays where short of players, they came out and had Fife played
their Brits and back up netminder the game would have been closer.
Scott Hay made 3-4 great saves to keep Hull out in the first period.
|
Adrian Saul opened the scoring, beating Sam Roberts after he had made numerous great saves.
Todd Dutiame and John Haig made it 3-0 after 26 minutes but a Slava Koulikov shot sneaked past
Hay when it trickled in through his legs.
Dru Volk bagged another for Fife before the end of the second period.
|
|
|
Early in the third period Adrian Saul got his second and Dave Pyatt made the score
respectable when he scored with four minutes left.
|
|
Stingrays should not be downhearted with this result and they should be proud of the way they performed.
Stingrays next home game is against Dundee Stars is on Wednesday 29th December face off 7:30.
