Hull Stingrays suffered their third loss on the bounce after a 3-2 loss to bottom of the Elite League Basingstoke Bison. Pavol Rieciciar gave the Bison the lead after some poor defending with only 3.44 on the clock, but Dru Burgess levelled things out when he received a defence-splitting pass from Pavol Gomenyuk to break away one on one with Vogel who committed himself early.

Burgess ducked around him and finished off a very neat move. Two and a half minutes later and Scott Wray whipped a pass in front of the goal and Tim Mckay hit a first-timer past Ronnie Vogel in the Bison net. The score remained the same with neither team having clear cut chances until 36.24 had gone on the clock when Duncan Dalmo received the puck on the blue line from a face off. He unleashed a slapshot which whistled past Kudrna.

Doug Sheppard got the game winning goal with 8 minutes left in the game, Hull upped their game for the last 5 minutes but couldn't find a way past Vogel.
