Hull Stingrays vs. Bracknell Bees - 4 January 2004
by Matt
Hull Stingrays good form continued even though they lost 0-1 in overtime to high-budget Bracknell Bees at the Hull arena this afternoon.

The only goal of the game came when, with forty seconds left, Allison found himself with a free run at the goal and scored on his backhand past Anders Hogberg who replaced fans favourite Pasi Raitanen over the Christmas period.
Rick Strachan and Slava Koulikov should have both scored in the first period but the ironwork denied them of what would have been well worked goals. With Bracknell out-shooting the Stingrays by two shots to one, it looked like the Bees would eventually take the lead but a solid defence playing good back to the wall hockey kept Bracknell at bay and got a well earned point.
Team captain Stephen Johnson was happy with two points from the weekends games: We played two of the best teams in the league and matched them, so we are happy. Getting back at five o'clock this morning doesn't help but we can't blame that - we're used to it!
Last night saw The Stingrays playing away in Dundee. A Slava Koulikov goal in the first period saw Hull gain another point with the score finishing 1-1.

The Stingrays got their second win of the season last weekend when Andrei Nikolaev scored the only goal of the game against Guildford Flames.

Next Saturday sees Newcastle visit Hull with a 5:45 face off.

By Matt with 1 Video AVI's of The Game
A poor performance from the Hull Stingrays saw them lose their third game in a row and sees them rooted to the foot of the table with only one draw this season. Edinburgh were the better of two poor teams, with both lacking passion and desire in a game with few chances and not much energy. Read more...

Sports - Ice Hockey by Matt
Since as far back as I can remember there has been something in my life. It is impossible to explain but it has always stood by me. Like some people cannot live without drugs, I can not live without ice hockey. For me it started back in 1991. In the previous Season the Seahawks managed to win the division one championship and how I wish I had seen that!
