Hull Stingrays vs. Fife Flyers - 7 Dec 2003
by Matt
|
|
The Stingrays failed to follow up their 4-2 win yesterday against Dundee as they lost 3-1 to the Fife Flyers.
Hull came out looking much like the same team that sent Dundee packing the night before and took the lead after 19 minutes and ten minutes when Alipov struck home.
|
Unfortunately, the second period saw the team calm down after three players were penalised in the space of forty seconds, giving Fife two minutes of five on three hockey which Hull defended very well.
On almost thirty minutes a blatant off-side wasn't called and Derek King scored Fife's first from the blue line. After a few more strange calls from Evans Goneau scored the second for the flyers.

Hull came out looking fired up in the third but couldn't find a way past Steve Briere in the Fife net. After fifty-seven minutes, Morrison made sure of the Flyers victory after he put home a Todd Dutiaume pass.
The next home match for the Stingrays is on the 17th December when Great Britain will visit the Hull Arena.

Since as far back as I can remember there has been something in my life. It is impossible to explain but it has always stood by me. Like some people cannot live without drugs, I can not live without ice hockey. For me it started back in 1991. In the previous Season the Seahawks managed to win the division one championship and how I wish I had seen that!
