Hull Stingrays vs. Dundee Stars - 6 Dec 2003
by Matt
|
|
A much improved Hull Stingrays got their first win of the season today against top of the league Dundee Stars.
Andrei Nikolaev opened the scoring after just 22 seconds of play following a well-worked setup from a new look first line, with Noel Burkitt moving up from the second and Evgeny Alipov moving from the first.
|
Patric Lochi equalized for Dundee after he broke away from the Stingrays defence and put the puck past Pasi Raitanen. Two goals in quick succession gave Hull a 3-1 lead with Pope and Koulikov scoring.
Dundee replied once more before the end of the first period when Wishart found himself in front of the goal with only Raitanen left to beat.

|
The second and third period was end to end but neither teams found the back of the net until Dundee pulled their net-minder for a extra skater but player/coach Rick Strachan scored a forth goal for the Stingrays and killed off any hopes that Dundee had had.
After the game Rick Strachan said "it has been a long time coming and now we have our first win we won't have it hanging over our heads."

|
Without a home game until 27th December Hull will have to continue with performances like tonight's.

Sports - Hull Stingrays vs. Edinburgh Capitals - 29 Nov 2003
|
|
By Matt with 1 Video AVI's of The Game
A poor performance from the Hull Stingrays saw them lose their third game in a row and sees them rooted to the foot of the table with only one draw this season.
Edinburgh were the better of two poor teams, with both lacking passion and desire in a game with few chances and not much energy.

Since as far back as I can remember there has been something in my life. It is impossible to explain but it has always stood by me. Like some people cannot live without drugs, I can not live without ice hockey. For me it started back in 1991. In the previous Season the Seahawks managed to win the division one championship and how I wish I had seen that!

Sports - Great Britain v Australia - 15/11/03 KC Stadium
|

By Nick Quantrill
Wow, this was sport! I'm not normally a huge fan of rugby league. My interest in playing the game ended when I lost a front tooth in a school 'friendly'. Nowadays, I tend to favour games in which you can predict the bounce of the ball. This game was special though; huge even, and what's more, it was being played in Hull by a Great Britain team

Sports Events - KC Skate Park July 2003

My guess was right, and the glorious evening sunshine brought the skatepark kids out in force. Word had obviously got around about the site as I felt like the Pied Piper - everywhere I turned I was met with tricks, questions and overwhelming enthusiasm.

Another last minute rush and the roads were heaving, but it was well worth the effort as Windfest turned out The Place To Be last weekend.
Lots of sponsored riders, designers and general kite celebs made the weekend pretty memorable but which kiting weekends aren't?!
