Hull Stingrays vs. Edinburgh Capitals - 9th Feb 2004

Hull Stingrays followed up their 2-2 draw with Bracknell the previous night with a 5-1 defeat against Edinburgh Capitals.
If lady luck had been on Hulls side the result could have been very different.
|
They had a bag full of chances but Kundra did extremely well to keep Hull down to only one goal.
Edinburgh opened the scoring after almost four minutes, Brent Pope and Pavel Gomenyuk where both sitting out penalties for cross checking when Jan krajicek finished off a Tony hand move.

Six minutes later and Adrian Saul made it two for the Capitals.
Brent Pope reduced the deficit to only one when he received the puck in front of the goal and hit it low past Kundra.
|
Nikolaev had an open net to put the puck into but Kundra managed to get his stick in the way at the last second.
Kaye managed to make it three for Edinburgh.

|
The third period saw hull step down a gear and Edinburgh took advantage scoring another two goals with krajicek getting his second and Clarke rounding it off with eight minutes left on the clock.
The Next game see's Stan Marples Guildford Flames visit the Hull arena on Saturday 14th February face off 5:45pm. |

Two goals from Andrei Nikolaev saw the Stingrays beat Newcastle Vipers 4-3.
Slava koulikov opened the scoring after just 18 seconds; Nikolaev hit a drop pass to koulikov who hit home from the blue line leaving former Hull netminder Pasi Raitanen stranded.
After seven and a half minutes gone a delayed penalty ..

Hull Stingrays lost to the Newcastle Vipers despite out-shooting their opposition 36 shots to 25.
Hull came out all guns blazing and should have come out of the first period with at least a one goal advantage.
Early in the second period, Simon Leech served a two minute penalty for high sticks.
Dru Burgess almost scored his first goal..

Hull Stingrays good form continued even though they lost 0-1 in overtime to high-budget Bracknell Bees at the Hull arena this afternoon.

A poor performance from the Hull Stingrays saw them lose their third game in a row and sees them rooted to the foot of the table with only one draw this season.
Edinburgh were the better of two poor teams, with both lacking passion and desire in a game with few chances and not much energy.
