A Family Double Bill For Christmas at Hull Truck Theatre!
Beauty and the Beast and Twas the Night Before Christmas
|
Monday 22nd November - Saturday 4th December
Beauty and the Beast
Adapted and directed by Nick Lane
Monday 6th December - Thursday 30th December
'Twas the Night Before Christmas
Written by Nick Lane - Directed by Gareth Tudor Price
|
|
Hull Truck is offering families the chance to enjoy a double bill of festive entertainment this year at only £3.50 per ticket! These value-for-money prices reflect Hull Truck's mission to help make theatre accessible for all.
The two Christmas shows are brought to life by the king of crazy characters, Nick Lane. Last
year, Nick's two shows, A Christmas Carol and The Snow Queen, were a storming success and a joy for all.
With the return of the sell out Beauty and the Beast, and the brand new play, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, theatregoers are advised to book early as tickets are selling fast.
|
|
Firstly, audiences can enjoy the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast, with a
large dose of Lane's trademark madcap comedy thrown in!
Beauty is a bright, loving girl, who is imprisoned by a fearsome beast in order to save her father.
Yet the beast doesn't seem that scary at all.
Can she discover that it's what's inside that counts before it's too late?
|
Next up is 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. Emily's excited, it's Christmas day tomorrow and there's a Gameboy-shaped present under the tree with her name on it. If only she could get to sleep…if only anyone could get to sleep…
The problem is, a very wicked man with a very wicked plan has kidnapped all the Christmas dreams. If no one can sleep then Christmas day will never come. Can Emily find help and literally save the day?
To book tickets, call the Box Office on 01482 323638. Suitable for ages four and up, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Double ticket offer; see both shows for only £6 per person.

Reviews, Theatre - Confessions Of A Hull City Supporter at Hull Truck By Nick Quantrill
|
|
Written by Hull City fanatic, Alan Plater, and with male characters played by actors from Hull,
it would be easy to write this play off as being a parochial Fever Pitch.
Whilst it's definitely a home banker, the structure of the play holds enough laughs
to get a result away from home.

Reviews, Theatre - Up 'n' Under at Hull Truck Theatre with Cast Interview 23/07/2004 By Andy Dykes
|
|
John Godber's play 'Up 'n' Under' has enjoyed widespread success for twenty years.
So it's obvious that the story, although I have to admit I don't really know it,
does not need to be reviewed.
So I realise that if this report is going to be of any worth at all, tonight
I need to review the performance.

Once upon a time, there was a young boy called James Crossley. James liked to play sport and
did a lot of exercise. He bought himself some weights and trained hard until he became big and beefy.
When James grew up he grew his hair all silly so that he looked like a blond spaniel.
Then he became famous
