Going Dutch at Hull Truck Theatre - Thursday 16th December - Saturday 22nd January

Hull Truck is proud to present the world premiere of Going Dutch, written and directed by John Godber Tuesday 21st December - Post show talk back with director and cast January 2005 to June 2005 - National tour This production marks the culmination of a year of triumphs for John Godber as he celebrates his 20th anniversary as Hull Truck 's Artistic Director.

Unique in that it will be John's only new play written and performed during his prolific 20th anniversary year, Going Dutch will tour nationally throughout Spring 2005. Making her Hull Truck debut is Gemma Craven, star of the West End musical Anything Goes and the Dennis Potter drama Pennies From Heaven.

Meet Sally and Mark, feeling fifty and frustrated, cruising to Amsterdam to see The Boss Springsteen in concert. All seems to be plain sailing ahead but the tides are a-turning.. Come aboard Gill, the couple's college friend, general goodtime girl, sometime actress and long time lust object for Mark. Cleverly avoiding Mark's adulterous advances by inviting her own secret stowaway, Gill's new lover Karl is as rough as a force ten gale!

As the weekend wears on, Mark and Sally's relationship is pushed to the limit as Karl, the sometime porn star, whips their ordinary lives into a storm! Lost somewhere between the devil and the deep blue sea do Sally and Mark dive headlong into sex, drugs and rock and roll or tell their tempters to walk the plank?
