Next Page for Sunday 24th Event details

Grass Roots Central - an afternoon of acoustic entertainment, in association with Cottingham Live Music - in Queens Gardens on Saturday August 23rd 12.30 - 4.30 pm.

I arrived at Queens Gardens about 1.30pm on Saturday after joining in with the slightly late Hull Crowd Flash Event took place in Queen Victoria Square At 1 o'clock. (that's a coming soon report).

After digging past hoards of shoppers doing their Saturday pilgrimage I made my way to the Grass Roots Central Event.

In progress were Lou, Rich and Nahro. Louise and Rich Duffy-Howard along with Dave Okwesia from Full Flava, met some five years ago, part of an extended group of musicians and artists from Hull.
It was perfect chemistry as the third Grass Roots organised by this threesome began its weekend festival of music and dance.

On Wednesday, 6th August 2003, I went with my friend Claire to the 'Awakening' night at Pozition in the centre of Hull. 'Awakening' is the name of the night when under 18's only are allowed. I was allowed to go in early to take some photos and have a look around.

News - Home and Gardens?....No...This IS Hull.
After a long time out of Hull I bumped into a friend who has lived in Edinburgh Street for twenty years. "Tell me about Little Beirut," I said. "What's it like living at the epicentre of west hull's Council-sponsored landgrab?"

Interviews - Brain from the Hull Flash Crowd
By Rich Mills
Rich: Alright Brain, so you've given up trying to take over the world every night with your side-kick Pinky, and have moved into organising Flash Crowds, or Flash Mobs as I understand they are also known?
