Follow a narrow path off Newland Avenue by the side of Skelton's shop
and you will encounter a gardened area leading to the Zoo vegetarian café
and coffee shop.
It is surprisingly easy to miss, even with the banner across the top of
the road which leads to it ..
|
|
|
Covering two floors, the Zoo has been open for nine years now, so Chloe´ its
owner told me.
And with the funky new décor - pay a visit and see for yourself, I'm not
revealing any more - it's a great place to meet up with family and friends,
or hire a function room.
Zoo's popularity is hardly surprising, given the great choice of healthy
vegetarian and vegan meals and snacks.
|
|
All this is freshly prepared on site by qualified and innovative young
chef Chloe´ Grannon, who has gained experience in London and France
as well as her home town of Hull.
|
|
|
Although the Zoo has an excellent choice of freshly ground coffee,
smoothies and milk shakes, home-made desserts and puddings, expect a
friendly family café feel rather than that of a coffee shop.
The Zoo also holds vegetarian and vegan evenings with live acoustic music,
which are enjoyed and praised by all.
To hire a room or book an evening function, please call in or
telephone (01482) 494352.

From the ashes of the defunct Sydney Scarborough building rises Hull's one and
only cyber cafe. It's decked out with huge dark blue comfy sofas, massive
ultraviolet waveform artwork adorning the walls and Avril Lavinge's Sk8er

Food Reviews - Pizza Planet Plummets! by Petra

Moving further up Spring Bank I recently frequented Pizza Planet - a

have bothered. My cheeseburger was bland to say the least - the succulent
tasting stick certainly wasn't hitting

We have spent most of the week-end at the WOMAD festival in Reading. We spent loads of money on food which was a bit disappointing and when we got home we thought it might be nice to try to make something like a WOMAD curry.
This is a really gorgeous curry

There we were, Thursday afternoon with nothing much to do and tummies starting to

then decided on lasagne as it was the last thing me and Amenah had cooked in
