Restaurant Reviews - ASK Warehouse, Princes Dock Street, Hull
By Jill Turner
|
Date 25th November. Party of 14. Table for 8pm.
When we turned up it was very busy.
Our table had been put in the corner next to the cooking area.
We did not have enough tables, I had to sit on the corner of a table and eat my starter.
It was not until I spoke to the Manager that they increased our tables by 1.
He told me; all you had to do was ASK!
Because we were a large number we had faxed our order of 3 courses weeks in advance,
thus hoping we would not have to wait a long time between courses.
|
|
|
But NO. You guessed it, between the starter being cleared and the main being served
in dribs and drabs a whole hour passed by.
|
|
When they did start to serve up the main, they got it wrong.
Even with a list of meals. HOW can that go wrong? We had to wait for drinks.
When they did start to serve up the main, they brought 2 salads out for 14 people!
Then came the bread: each measured no more than 6 inches long and that was to share between 4 people.
Then came the Bill! £410 for 14 people. How were we to sort that out?
|
|
I had previously spoken to the Manager and made arrangements re the bill, and
when it came to the night did it happen? NO.
|
So after a glass or two of wine we then had to sort out who had what and how much to pay.
With no help at all from the staff. Then they expected us to pay a gratuity of 10%.
On closer inspection the bill had drinks on that no one had even ordered let alone drunk.
So after making our feelings clear to the management, I can categorically say that on
behalf of 14 customers we will NOT be coming back soon.
And I would advise any person thinking of dining at ASK, to ask about it and think again.
