Eddie shook me hand and outside a consul pulled up. A petite blonde girl called. "Eddie, we're late". "OK honeybunch, I'm on my way". Big Jim Sullivan assisted Gene to the car with Shari Shelley and last in followed Eddie. Fine drizzle hung in the air. The car pulled off. Eddie Cochran was interested in my material, my material. What a coup, and I had Joe Brown praising me as well. That would show them. Suddenly, impressing a youth club combo was not that important. I would definitely set my guitar up differently.

Of course, history ran its course that night. Eddie never did play again but the last songs he played were mine.
