Looking Good for a Makeover at Les Ciseaux
by Cilla
Continued from
Looking Good for a Makeover at Les Ciseaux Page 1.

Meanwhile, its no fun for poor Mo, who's supposed to be celebrating his birthday today! He's amazed at just how long all this takes, and how many coffees one woman can drink in a couple of hours!
He tries different angles for his photos - it's a shame nobody will ever get to see most of them!

After several coffees and heavy sighs from the birthday boy, Karen reaches the end - my parting is carefully sorted (no sparkly bits here, please!) and there I am! Nearly ready for the next stage in my metamorphosis!

All done. Now it was just a matter of time. Every 5 minutes Karen came back to check the colour.

I hoped, with the anxiety I'm sure we all feel at moments like these, that she wouldn't forget me and let my hair turn green!
After scribbling down some notes for my article, I picked up a copy of Hello magazine ( as recommended by Dorothy) and read more and more about Victoria Beckhams hair extensions. If only ..

It's nice to fantasise over a cup of coffee with your hair covered in goo that produces fumes which make your eyes sting!

Not being able to bear any more waiting, Mo took advantage of the situation by introducing himself to one of Karens other clients. This lady was delightful. She was happy to be subjected to close-up photographs while she was coiffed and placed under a hair dryer which we both felt looked like something from a Star Wars movie. She left the salon looking a million dollars!

At last it was time to rinse and wash the drying, crumbly transforming mixture off my hair.

Having someone else do it for you is like massage. Karen is particularly good at this - I shut my eyes for a snooze!

Before Karen styled my hair, I was treated to a facial and make-up by Cheryl.

I was ushered through bead curtains into the treatment (therapy) room, made comfortable on the bed before my face was cleansed, toned, scrubbed, massaged and rejuvenated - and made to feel at least 10 years younger than before!

The facial includes a neck and shoulder massage. Fantastic. Cheryl is really brilliant at making you feel relaxed.
She told me that I would really enjoy the facial and I really did! This was my first; first of many, I suspect.

Well, here are the final 'After' photos - Look, no sparkly bits!

After all that, it was time to celebrate Mo's birthday! So later on that evening off we went to Rays Place (Princes Ave) with our bottle of red wine for a romantic dinner. As usual, the food was fabulous. But before we'd got to the main meal, we were both so tired and had pigged out so much on popadoms and prawn puree starters that we had to admit defeat and ask to have the rest as a takeaway!

It's hard work, all that pampering and relaxation!

But what a treat, and what a laugh! Thanks to Karen, Cheryl, and all the customers who made this day such a special one for me.
