After the unbelievable response to the Hull Aid Tsunami Benefit Event, where hundreds of you turned up to be entertained by some of the fabulous talent from in and around Hull, we can announce the current total donated by YOU!

Together with collections at Yo-Yo on 8th January and a further donation from The Welly Club, the total is an amazing £4,152!

Thanks to EVERYBODY who helped in anyway - you all deserve an enormous pat on the back, a round of applause and a feeling of satisfaction that you have made a difference.
Alan Raw, Andrew and Priya from Yo-Yo, B&Q St. Andrews Quay, BBC Radio 6, Blue Sand and Rich Porter, Blueslide Circle, Bonnits, Carl from Scribes, Chris and all the brilliant staff at Rhythm Room, CrackTown, Daniel Laney, Darren Rogers, Dave Reeves, Dean Shakespeare, Digsy, Dirty Dreamers, Emma Crowe, The Favours, Gail Teasdale, Gareth Marshall and Heather, Glenn Williams (Lazyswede), Grapevine, Hanna Houghton, HPSS, Hull Daily Mail, Hull FC, Hull Scene, Jane Foster, Jim Coulson and Viking FM, John Anguish, The Johnsons, Jordan Paramour and Heat Magazine, Katy Noone, Kirsty Burgess, HMV UK, Kristian Rumble,
The Landaus, The Last People On Earth, Lee Cassanell, Look North, Lloyds TSB, Newland Avenue, Lyn at The Gig Shop, Mark Page, Mark Pollard, Matty from the band Senses, Nathan and all the brilliant staff at Linnet and Lark, Oracle, The Paddingtons, Phil Rockerfella, Raw Talent, Richard Skog, Rumpus, Sally and Lucy Kynman, Screen Print, The Sneaks, Spark TV, Stef Landau, Steve (Grapevine), Steve Reed, Still Life, Tall Orders, Tim Dooley, Tom Ritchie, Turismo, Virgin Megastore, Hull and The Vultures.
And of course, the biggest Thank You ever to all of you who came along and emptied your wallets, purses, pockets and piggy banks in aid of the worst disaster we have ever witnessed.

There's no place like 'Ull!

Your donations can provide this ...

4 complete water testing kits (£1,086 each)

or
4 water tanks that could hold 11,000 litres each, which can be put together in just 45 minutes and is large enough to provide 750 people with their daily water requirements (£1,236 each)

or

20 tonnes of aluminium sulphate for water purification. This is used when the water is very dirty - it causes sediments to drop out of the water, after which it can be chlorinated (185 per tonne)

or
35 emergency shelter kits, comprising plastic sheeting, struts, pegs and rope - enough for a family of eight (£118 each)

or

700 family hygiene kits (£60 pays for 10)

Band Interviews - Sweet n Sour at the Welly Club 22/07/2004 Mad Action Interview By Andy Dykes
After the show I go backstage. Admittedly it's partly to use the toilet, but also to catch up with the bands, particularly Mad Action, with whom an interview has been arranged. The lead singer and guitarist/backing-vocalist from Kasabian are immediately welcoming, allowing me to use their toilet without fear of violence or harassment. Read more...
