Overnight Investigation of the Paranormal with The Spiritual Renaissance Group (6/7)

It appears that the denizens of the spirit world have a wide array of methods through which they will interact with the still-living. A circle of, perhaps, ten of the guests attempted table-levitation in the cinema, though in the absence of a suitable table they gathered round a plastic chair and placed their hands on that instead, with fingertips touching.

The group gave up the pursuit after about fifteen uneventful minutes. Perhaps it only works with tables??!!
Just my luck, I was elsewhere (probably top-side, having a smoke) when this next incident occurred; Graham felt the strong presence of a man who was suffering the agony of losing both hands in an accident, downstairs in the large WMD gallery.

He sensed (or perhaps even saw) that the re-enactment of this unfortunate event was about a yard above the present level of the ground.

When this was put to James Fox , he was quite taken aback, and said that in the not-too-distant past (in the 1980's?) there had been a oak-wood false floor at that point in the room, raising the level by three feet.

It was whilst moving one of the heavy oak floor panels that a workman had lost both hands as it came crashing down onto his wrists. Seriously spooky stuff!
Then the time came for some "automatic writing". The group convened in the map room and whilst some formed a circle and began another séance, seven of us, including myself, took a sheet of paper and were instructed to sit on the floor and hold a pen loosely in our "opposite" writing hand. If we closed our eyes and relaxed sufficiently then perhaps some spirit entity would guide our hand and pass on some sort of meaningful message.

After about fifteen minutes all I had was a series of squiggles that looked like a coastal map of Scotland. The others didn't fare much better, except for Gill. She said that she had the sensation of being somewhat taken-over, and had produced a number of words and short phrases in several different handwriting styles.

Some of the writing is, to me, illegible, but the following parts are quite clear:

"Today", "Yellow", "Gone is the day", "Blue light", "FLASH LITE", "GUNS POWER LOUD", "GO GO GO"

It was interesting to see the word "light" spelled both correctly and incorrectly in different phrases, and a mixture of uppercase and capitalised writing done by the same "hand". It seemed obvious to me that, if genuine, these were short and often confused messages coming from many different sources.

Why is it that the practical workman or Sun reader is as thick as pig shit? Is it a pre- requisite for tradesmen's school? One workman asked my boss What's your favourite colour? Dunno, red he says. Articles - Mobile Phones: Pain or Pleasure? By Sandra Blemster
Do you consider your mobile phone to be a pleasure or a proverbial pain, a help or a hindrance? Sandra Blemster investigates. In recent years we have seen a little known fad sweep over the nation and take it over with fervent ferocity. The name of the culprit? Mobile telephones. Articles - The Sixties By Marion
Everyone has memories from their childhood. Some of mine involve making a union jack windmill while at primary school, then standing on Beverley Road, waiting to wave it at the Queen, when she visited Hull once. Another thing that sticks in my memory was when a new food fad came into being: frozen beef-burgers, chips, and peas. I drove my poor mum mad wanting them all the time! Read more...

In November 2004 Sue and I promised ourselves a really special present for Christmas this year, we needed something really special because of the shitty year we had had. Articles - My Self Harm
Why am I qualified to write this piece? Why, because I live with the reality of being a self-harmer each and every day. I started self-harming when I was about ten years old. It took the form of taking my penknife and trapping each one of my fingers whilst the blade was trying to shut. I would lie in bed to Read more...
