What does it take to get people to come out in Hull? A free concert and hundreds, not thousands, came out to enjoy the bands and sunshine. The event had a great ambience to it and everyone there seemed to enjoy the day. Paul from the White Room held things together with some in between band chat and introductions. The opening band were pretty hardcore and I didn't catch their name. Regardless a couple of Goths were moved to dance/headbang. They got things off to a good start and were well received by the crowd.

Next up were a group of Indian dancers who entertained with several traditional dances. The average age was under 11 and these dancers certainly did a wonderful job. It was great to see children of both European and Asian origin dancing together. Zhain were on next and were the band I came to see. Originally from the Hull area they have just started the U-KAOS world tour which will play over 100 shows in 15 countries on four continents in six months.

I read a review by Michelle describing them as Metal which I find hard to understand. These guys rock for sure but I wouldn't call them Metal. Great songs, great playing and a great atmosphere. They stormed the park and attracted many new listeners to the main stage area. Catch any U.K. show on the tour you can, in fact catch any show on the tour it will be worth it. A great show that proved why Zhain are playing all over the world.

The next band Someone and The Somethings got the soul, R&B vibe down to a T. Hey Michelle it was Dusty, not Sandy who did Preacher Man but you are right the band did Dusty proud. While the band exhibited a few rough spots one of the lady singers excelled and will go as far as she wants to in the music business. A great set of classic soul songs that were just right for a sunny afternoon. Sadly I had to leave after Someone and The Somethings due to babysitting duties. A great afternoon that a lot of people missed out on. Come on Hull, support these events or risk losing them.
