Tuesday 8th July 08 - Transit Tour at The Adelphi

Once again the Transit Tour is back and this time it includes Hull favourite Alison Angus. Alongside the experimental Beverley two-piece will be Sheffield's Dead Like Harry as well as our very own Windum Earl.

Both Alison Angus and Dead Like Harry put on storming performances on the first date of the Transit Tour at Sheffield's Grapes. Now it is Hull's turn to show what a vibrant and appreciative music scene we have here.

Alison Angus are not a female singer songwriter nor are they a new breed of cattle. However, they are a scorching experimental duo with an uncanny ear for a tune.
The band began by playing a number of gigs in their home-town of Beverley but it wasn't long before they had captured the hearts of minds of gig goers in nearby Hull.

Alison Angus is made up of guitarist/synth-player, Jonathan Birch, and drummer/vocalist, Josh Meredith, the pair combine influences of post-rock and hardcore to produce a ragingly emotive beat-driven behemoth.
Dead Like Harry were formed due to a shared passion for making and performing music. The result was a sound coloured by rock, blues, American, English, country and even folk influences, but what remained at its centre an honest, from-the-heart collection of songs written and performed by a group of young friends.

Windum Earl is verging on legendary status amongst the people who know the Hull music scene. The band have been around in one form or another for nigh on ten years but such familiarity has not stopped them from sounding fresh and glorious with each gig. Rumours are a bundle that they are set to unleash some new songs.

News, Current Affairs - Greens stand for civil liberties in Haltemprice and Howden by-election campaign - July 10th
Greens argue that David Davis 's vision of civil liberties is in a whole variety of ways far too narrow.
