Sunday 18th March 07 - Sounds Of The City Presents The Rocky Nest And The Launderette Poets At The Lamp 8pm

The next Sounds of the City night on Sunday 18th March presents two bands making a growing impression on the Hull music scene. The Rocky Nest - two men and three women including an ex member of Fonda 500 and an ex Favour - weave together an eclectic mix of instruments including glockenspiel, ukelele, recorder, trumpet, guitar, bass, drums and accordian. They find their inspiration in chemical factory lights on a winter's night and dew drops falling from leaves and faces.

The Launderette Poets is the musical collaboration of Marissa Claughan and Patrick Gradwell who began writing songs in 2003 when they met whilst studying music at Hull University. They play a folk melodic mix of vocals, cello and guitar. They recently recorded Amazing Grace as part of the Wilberforce 2007 celebrations. Entrance is FREE.
