Wednesday 28th February 07 - Help The Aged Fundraiser at The Polar Bear
The Polar Bear pub in Spring Bank has teamed up with two intrepid fundraisers to
raise cash for Help The Aged. The pub will host a fundraising night on
February 28th with a number of great raffle prizes up for grabs, including a pampering
day at a Champneys Health Spa, a weekend at a four-star hotel (The Village chain) and
snowboarding or skiing lessons at Xscape, Castleford.
Music will be provided by The Rockits (
), who recently
played a sell out gig at Liverpool's Cavern and are making big waves across Hull
and the East Riding.
The fundraising night is the brainchild of Laurie Harvey and Danielle Waite (
, who are raising money to climb to Machu Pichu in Peru, South America.
The pair are well on their way to reaching a £5,600 fundraising total,
and hope the night will lift them to their goal.
They are in negotiations with a number of other local businesses and
sporting organisations over more prizes for the night, which starts at 8pm.
Raffle tickets are available from the Polar Bear in Spring Bank, priced £2 for a strip of five.
For an up to date list of prizes, contact Laurie on 07899 854150 or email
. Admission to the fundraising night is free and prizes will be announced on the night.
