Saturday 21st July 07 - Music HQ Presents The Redwood Thinkers, 59 Violets, Circus Envy And Lecorum At Hull Mela 07, Pearson Park, Hull 12 Noon - 6pm
|
This year's Hull Mela sees Music HQ presenting a live music tent with a stunning line
up of talent from Hull and slightly further afield.
Opening up the afternoon's live music are Leeds based band The Redwood Thinkers who
regularly travel through to Hull to play at Music HQ's Acoustic Wednesday gigs.
Featuring Hull-born vocalist Kezia, The Redwood Thinkers have a great set of quality
songs with complex vocal harmonies showcased by impressively textured instrumentation.
|
|
|
59 Violets are next to appear and are regulars at top live music nights like The Sesh,
and should certainly give the stage a real burst of indie rock energy.
Kal-El's Cape follow and feature Shane McMurray on lead vocals who made quite a name for
himself as a solo performer before putting together this critically acclaimed band.
Mayfield visit Hull as part of their UK tour and hail from Australia.
Described as new grunge, they will add something a touch heavier to the afternoon's musical entertainment.
|
Circus Envy are the penultimate act and give new vocalist Leigh Hirst a baptisim of fire b
efore they set off for a clutch of high profile gigs in September.
Last but not least, Lecorum have burst onto the national music scene gaining reviews
describing their music as piano pumping indie rocking artistry.
They could be Hull's answer to Keane but that would not be a fair description as they are better than that!
