Understanding Community Development Work (accredited course) This course will provide an introduction to people's understanding of community development work by exploring issues including:

The key purpose of community development work The values and practice principles that underlie all good community development work 'Community' and its different meanings Power and powerlessness within communities Working with and within groups The motivation of people to become involved in community development activities and barriers to their full participation
