Community Media - 20/20/2Vision Music Video Competition

20/20/2Vision is THE music video competition. If you're a filmmaker, or if you're a band, or if you're a person with even the slightest interest in these two mediums, then read on, or read out! As of the 3rd April, the time will be ticking for 20 filmmakers and 20 musicians. 2 weeks will be the time limit and a panel of music and film industry insiders will be their gatekeepers. Show your work Musicians, bands and filmmakers will be invited to showcase their work at various venues throughout the 2 weeks of the competition. These include the Faversham, Millennium Square, the Hyde Park Picture House and the Hi-Fi Club. Watch a blend of both upcoming and established musicians perform from a mixed bag of styles and see some of the best filmmaking talent in the region. You really don't want to miss these events! A full mentoring and support program is available throughout the full two weeks of film-making to aid the professional development of those interested in film or music. These will be delivered by industry experts from both film and music and will take place in different locations around Leeds.

Create 20/20/2Vision offers the opportunity to cross-breed, share skills and tips with talented film makers and musicians, from a broad range of backgrounds and producing from a diverse range of genres. Collaborate 20/20/2Vision draws together the unique collaboration of numerous national film and music organisations, including the BBC, Channel 4 Ideas Factory, the Leeds City Council Young Peoples' Film Festival, Studio 12, Short Circuits, Screen Yorkshire, Sandman, The Faversham and the Hi-Fi Club (to name just a few!)

Original Concept The concept for 20/20/2Vision has been developed from the South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network's '2 Weeks to Make It'. Ed Cartledge is the managing director of The South Yorkshire FilmmakersNetwork. As well as working as a filmmaker in his own right, Ed invests a lot of unpaid time into innovating and managing filmmaking and networking opportunities for the region's grass roots filmmakers. '2 Weeks 2 Make It' was one such project. 'Planning and running 2 Weeks 2 Make It alongside my colleague Rob Speranza was a fantastic experience.

We saw dozens of filmmakers and musicians working intensively together to a tight deadline. I think it provided a lot of people with a lot of new contacts, skills and experiences and of course, a whole lot of fun as well.
