Circus Envy Gig Dates May to July 06

Roll Up! Roll Up! Music fans in Hull prepare to run away with the circus...

They've yet to give their first live performance, but already local lads Circus Envy are becoming a household name in Hull. The five piece band, made up from former members of local favourites still life and The Raindogs have been amazed by the response to the four basic recordings they put up on the internet just two weeks ago on their myspace page www.myspace.com/circusenvyband

In the words of vocalist Paul Terry, We only decided on the band's name two weeks ago and made some recordings of our songs to try and get some gigs - within the first week we had over a thousand views and two thousand plays of our songs. We are really pleased that people want to hear us and can't wait to start performing live.

The band are now putting the finishing touches to their sound, and have announced a series of low key acoustic performances so fans old and new can get a feel for their songs in a more intimate atmosphere. This includes an appearance at the Tiger's Lair, Anlaby Road, Hull alongside local hero Steve Reed www.myspace.com/stevereedmusic (who has just returned from filming a music video in Leeds) and the Australian twins Tall Poppies www.myspace.com/tallpoppies who are currently touring the UK to great critical acclaim.

Circus Envy's inaugural performance as a full band will be at the popular open mic night at Durty Nelly's in Hull's old town on 12th July.
